The Free College benefit is an individual scholarship and amounts vary based on the student’s cost of tuition, fees and e-books at EGCC. The scholarship will be renewed each term as long as the student (or the family member) is a full, dues paying union member.Scholarship Essay Examples and Samples. Applicants are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need and appreciation of labor. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. The required essays can account for up to half your total score. Scholarship applicants are judged by a committee of impartial post-secondary educators.

Program details. Students must complete an average of 60 credits (depending on the program) for each of EGCC’s degree programs. Note that depending on the number of credits taken per semester, and the number of any previous credits earned and transferred, 60 credits usually takes a full-time student 2 years to complete.
